Prospective students from SJTU
ParisTech Doctoral Institute and the ParisTech local branch in China have recently launched a coordinated recruitment procedure in partnership with Shanghai Jiao Tong University. This programme is open to SJTU students interested in carrying on doctoral studies at ParisTech.

Application procedure at ParisTech (Only electronic applications are accepted)
The application material includes an application form and two referee report forms.
If you want to be considered for a Doctorate at ParisTech the following documents are required:
- A completed application form 1
- Two completed independent referee reports 2 (recommendation form, ratings, personal evaluation)
- A student ranking certification
- A university transcript of course grades
- An English summary of your master thesis
- A personal statement 3 (one page)
- A research plan 4 (one page)
- Applicants whose first language is not French or English are required to include evidence of their French and English ability
- Any further documentary evidence of academic achievement/excellence (for example, university prizes, published work, previously awarded scholarships)
- A copy of your resident identification card
Please fill out the application form, collect the completed referee reports, attach a scanned copy of the documents listed above and send it to: info.chine(at)paristech.fr.
On receipt of the required materials, the eligibility and merit of the application will be considered.
A first interview (assessment of applicant’s interpersonal skills) will be conducted in China by the local branch of ParisTech. The evaluation results will be part of the application file.
Application forms and associated documents will be examined by Professors from ParisTech schools interested in supervising a student from SJTU. Formal interviews by videoconferences will be arranged in January 2012 between the potential supervisors and the applicants.
After agreement between the supervisor and the applicant, a formal letter of admission will be sent to the student and to the administration of SJTU.

1 please note that to save a copy of the completed application form, you have to print it as a new pdf document. Alternatively a scan of the completed application form can be done.
2 please note that it is the responsibility of the applicants to ensure that the referee reports will be returned duly completed.
3 please outline why you wish to study at ParisTech and don’t hesitate to provide any additional information about yourself (interests, work experience, etc.) that may support your application.
4 the research plan should describe the areas you are interested in and some work that you have done which has made you consider undertaking research.
